Paul Tobin

Paul graduated from Massey College of Creative Arts in 2002 and has been employed at Weta Workshop from 2003 to the present day as a Concept Designer. He has worked on Andrew Adamson's, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005) and Prince Caspian (2008). Sir Peter Jackson's King Kong (2005) and The Hobbit (pre-production), James Cameron's Avatar (2009) and a brief tour on Neill Blomkamp's District 9 (2009) and Steven Speilberg's The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn (post production).
In addition to his role as a concept designer Paul works as a freelance illustrator and also conceived, art directed and designed Weta Workshop's book The Crafting of Narnia and co-designed The World of Kong.
In 2010 Paul created 'White Cloud Worlds', an anthology of sci-fi and fantasy artwork from New Zealand. www.whitecloudworlds.com
Paul has also been teaching Digital Illustration as a part-time tutor in the Institute of Communication Design at Massey College of Creative Arts since 2006.

Warren Mahy

For the past 10 years Warren has been a freelance concept designer, story board artist and production illustrator for the film, TV and gaming industry. His most notable work so far would be his contribution to the designing of Sir Peter Jackson's trilogy of blockbusters, The Lord of The Rings. His influence can also be seen in numerous other films, including the remake of King Kong and Andrew Adamson's Narnia series. Over the last 18 months, Warren has been working at Weta Digital in Wellington on the Pre-Vis team and has also begun storyboarding with Sir Peter on his up and coming "Hobbit" films.
Warren's illustrations are also seen in print, predominantly within the trading card and the Role Playing industry. Storyboarding is one of his passions and he enjoys the link between illustration and storytelling.

Scott Spencer

Scott Spencer is a concept designer at Weta Workshop. Scott is the author of two top selling ZBrush books "ZBrush Digital Sculpting: Human Anatomy" and "ZBrush Character Creation" both from Wiley Publishing. As a long time ZBrush beta tester and digital sculpting instructor for the Gnomon school of Visual Effects, Scott has a unique experience with the many and varied techniques available in ZBrush.
Ben Wootten

Ben is a concept artist and illustrator based in Wellington. He spends his days drawing dragons, knights, wizards and rangers for RPG companies such as Wizards of the Coast, Blizzard's World of War Craft and Paizo's Pathfinder. Prior to his freelance career Ben was a senior concept designer at Weta Workshop, working on Sir Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings Trilogy, King Kong and Andrew Adamson's Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian. In addition he also sculpted Weta Collectibles acclaimed Ringwraith on a Steed and the Balrog.
Stephen Crowe

Stephen Crowe is a professional illustrator and concept artist based in Wellington, New Zealand. He has had many years of experience in the visual design field, across a number of different disciplines, working for both local and international clients. Of particular note is his past role as a senior concept designer for Weta Workshop, where over a period of several years he worked on a number of large budget, international film productions, including Sir Peter Jackson's King Kong, Andrew Adamson's The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe and James Cameron's Avatar.
Recently Stephen has been illustrating a graphic novel for Montreal based Meduzarts and has illustrated for Wizards of the Coast and Blizzard's World of Warcraft. His piece the Engineer was chosen for inclusion 2010's Spectrum 17 - The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art.
